Collins Construction Company is seeking a dependable individual for a full time Truck Dispatcher for our I-81 Project located in Syracuse, NY.

The Truck Dispatcher will report to the field operations of DA Collins Company. Dispatcher will play a critical role in getting trucks to our projects and support the field operations on their needs. .

Essential job functions include but are not limited to:

• Ensure total compliance with company policies and procedures and Federal and State laws

• Schedule truck drivers to job locations and duties

• Coordinate and manage the most efficient load

• Arrange delivery and pickup times and special handling requests

• Keep drivers up to date on road conditions

• Monitor daily driver logs and equipment availability

• Monitor truck repairs and maintenance schedules

• Communicate with customers regarding delivery details and times

• Plan delivery routes and amend as required

• Utilize technology to improve efficiency and safety (GPS, Cameras, Phones/Radios, Handhelds, and Streamline invoicing and payroll)

• Responsible for all Permitting, Registration, Insurance, Contracts and Purchase Agreements

• Coordinates with company shop to schedule maintenance and repairs for the equipment

• Extended hours may be required

• Must follow all safety rules, regulations, and procedures

Minimum Qualifications:

• Possess High School Diploma or GED

• Possess basic knowledge of how trucking, shipping, and logistics work

o Must have a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation to report to work on time

o Candidate must pass a pre-hire drug screen (Drug Free Employer)

*Preference may be given to candidates who have a Bachelors or Associates degree in logistics or transportation

**Preference may be given to those candidates with experience in the heavy highway industry.

$60,000-$95,000

Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, overtime when applicable, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
