Upon acceptance of offer, we will coordinate new hire paperwork and pre-employment substance abuse screening (Drug Free Employer).

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

•Compile, record, and process weekly and Biweekly payrolls.

•Ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local Tax laws

•Handle payroll corrections, resolve discrepancies.

•Track and deduct all garnishments, union deductions, and other special payroll deductions.

•Maintain employee records

•Coordinate monthly multi-jurisdictional union reporting

•Assist with all payroll tax calculations and filings (weekly, quarterly, and annual)

•Assist with year-end compliance reporting for state and federal requirements including W2’s

•Maintain wage schedules to ensure compliance with prevailing wage schedule and/or union rates

•Cut out of cycle payroll checks when required.

•Prepare weekly certified payrolls, in house as well as Subcontractor.

•Prepare monthly and annual benefit reporting.

•Input bonuses and other special payments as needed

•Work with employees, supervisors, and management to resolve problems quickly and effectively.

•Open line of communication between the payroll department and other departments

•Any other payroll related tasks as they arise.

Essential Functions (with or without reasonable accommodation):

•Ability to lift up to 25lbs

•Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time

Required Qualifications:

•High school diploma or equivalent

•Ability to work with a team

•Effective Verbal and Written Communication skills

•Maintain a professional and positive attitude.

•Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

•Proficient in MS Excel

•Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities

•Results-driven

•Strong organizational skills with the ability multi-task and adapt to change quickly

•Strict confidentiality policy

•Self-starter who works well independently and as part of team to meet critical deadlines.

•Ability to work overtime required

Preferred Qualifications:

•Associates degree in business/finance or related field

•2+ years’ construction payroll experience including: Union payroll, prevailing wage, and certified payroll

•2+ years’ construction industry heavy highway experience

Compensation:

Hourly competitive wage commensurate with experience. Excellent benefit package including company paid health, dental, vision insurance, and life insurance with a generous company-funded retirement plan.

Hourly Wage $22.00 - $28.00

Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, overtime when applicable, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
